East End Neighborhood Strategic Plan is Complete

The City received a $25,000 grant from the NYS Office of Community Renewal to complete a strategic plan for the City’s East Side Neighborhood. Technical assistance funds were used to create a visionary plan to deal with many elements of the neighborhood including, but not limited to, housing conditions, commercial development around Exit 11 of Interstate 81 which is sprawling into traditional residential areas, and the impact of local industries on the neighborhood. A dedicated Steering Committee  guided the plan which called for significant public input including a business and residents survey, public meetings, and visioning sessions to gather community sentiments on the future of the East End.
