    Join in on the Cortland Downtown Community Cleanup! Volunteers will meet at 9:00 AM at Bru64 for complimentary regular coffee and treats before receiving assignments to clean up the Historic Downtown Cortland area until 12:00 PM. SCOPE OF WORK: Clean public areas of downtown, assist downtown businesses and organizations with exterior projects and minor interior projects. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: *VOLUNTEERS - email your interest before April 18 TO (to help us assign projects) *SHARE YOUR APPRECIATION - Be on the lookout April 22 for volunteers downtown and thank them for their hard work!

  3. CCHS Lunch & Learn: "David Brainard, Arctic Explorer"

    Please join speaker Linda Ruthig to hear about this heartbreaking story of courage and endurance in the face of abysmal circumstances. David Brainard was a young man who grew up in Freetown and attended Cortland Normal School. He was chosen to join the ill fated Greely Expedition in 1881. They planned to spend 3 years collecting scientific data. Supply ships never arrived and many of the men died. Bring your own lunch if you wish, and we will provide dessert and beverages.

  4. AARP 6-Hour "Smart Driver" Refresher Class

    April 28, 2018, 9:00 AM @ Cortland Community Center

    A six-hour driver refresher course geared for drivers aged 50 and older, but open to drivers of any age, is being offered from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with a 1 hour lunch break. Participants are encouraged to bring your AARP Membership Card and a sweater or jacket. This course is approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles for points and insurance reduction. This class is sponsored by AARP, the Cortland County Health Department, the Cortland County Area Agency on Aging, and the Cortland County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
