Beautification Program
- Sidewalk Program: The City's Sidewalk Program 2008 is available to residential owner-occupied and income properties. There are no requirements for household income eligibility. Sidewalk funds are available for one half of the cost of sidewalk replacement up to a maximum City participation of $700. Sidewalks must be located in the City’s right-of-way. This program does not include replacement of curbs. Participants must select a contractor listed on the City’s qualified contractors list. All cost estimates will be examined to make sure they are reasonable. The City must have on file an approved application before the work begins to be eligible for reimbursement. An application is available from Thoma Development Consultants at 753-1433, or by stopping by 34 Tompkins Street. The program continues until October 1 or until all program funds are committed. Funds are usually committed quickly, so interested persons are encouraged to submit an application promptly if they want to be included in the program.

Tree Planting Program: The City's Tree Planting Program is open to all residential (owner occupied and income property) and commercial properties in the City. Trees are selected by the City that are considered suitable for street tree planting, are resistant to insects and disease, are a sufficient size, have pleasing coloration, etc.
A City-selected contractor performs the work. All plantings must occur in the City's right of way which is generally the area between the sidewalk and the curb. Preference is given to properties that have never received a tree through the City's program.
