Clocktower has Open House

The City received $2M in 2007 Restore NY funds to assist in the redevelopment of the Clocktower Building in the downtown. The three-story historic Squires Block, known locally as the Clocktower Building, tragically burned in April of 2006. The loss of the building resulted in the displacement of eight small businesses and 30 residents, most of them SUNY Cortland students. It also destroyed the City’s clock that was located in the tower of the building. The Restore money was used to leverage the $4M project. On August 26, 2009, building owner John Scanlon held an open house so that the community could view the new, 21,000 square foot building.
