City of Cortland Police Department Captures "Secure Our Schools" Funding
The City of Cortland Police Department was awarded $250,250 for a $500,500 security project for the Cortland School District. Funding was provided through the U.S. Department of Justice under the Secure Our Schools Program. The School District will install security cameras and DVR network recorders which allows the Police Department the ability to better monitor school grounds and buildings. High intensity lights and poles will be installed to assist in this endeavor. The School District is providing the required match as part of its capital project award.
