Trash Pickup
Trash must be in “City of Cortland” trash bags and at the curb by 7 am per the City Code. For information about your trash day, download Trash Collection Map or call the DPW office.
Our phone number is also on the City trash bags. Our current hauler is Casella Waste Systems.
Recycling
Recycle bins must also be at the curb by 7 am on trash day. They can be purchased at the DPW for $10.
Street Lights Out
To report damaged or malfunctioning street lights, please call National Grid at 1 (800) 642-4272, or fax 1 (800) 882-0322, and provide them with
- the street name
- pole number (may be read right off the light pole)
- status of the light
If you are unable to reach National Grid, please contact the City of Cortland at (607) 758-8374, or e-mail srhea@cortland.org.
