Crown Neighborhood Award Program

The Mayor announced the winner of the Crown Neighborhood Program, a neighborhood enhancement program initiated this summer. The neighborhood of Norma's Way, Hamlin, and Floral Streets are commended for their initiative and cooperative effort to beautify their neighborhood and will be awarded with a picnic sponsored by Covanta Water. Led by Robert Swartwout, neighbors gathered to remove an unsightly building on Norma's Way.

BEFORE

Neighbors gathered to remove brush surrounding the structure. City DPW mulched the shrubs.

Neighbors disassemble the structure, removing wood planks.

City DPW demolished the remaining support beams and roof.

Scrap wood and debris is hauled away by a DPW Loader.

Neighborhood Group spreads asphalt material for parking over the area.
