PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Rotary is an international service organization with a community focus; and

WHEREAS, the Cortland Rotary Breakfast Club and the Cortland Rotary Club sponsor or participate in numerous local and international projects; such as the foreign exchange program, the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly, distribution of Holiday Food Baskets, and the eradication of polio worldwide, to name a few; and

WHEREAS, the efforts, commitments, and hard work of the members of the Rotary Clubs improve the quality of life in our community and throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, the City of Cortland is fortunate to have a strong Rotary presence in our community, as demonstrated by the two Rotary Clubs of Cortland; and

WHEREAS, Rotary Clubs throughout the world are being recognized during the month of March;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Thomas Gallagher, Mayor of the City of Cortland, hereby proclaim the month of March, 2004 as “ROTARY AWARENESS MONTH”.
