2010-04-16, Groton Avenue Stabbings

On Friday morning, April 16, 2010, at approximately 10:30 pm, officers from the City of Cortland Police Department responded to the area of 36 Lincoln Avenue for a reported robbery involving a handgun.  Upon arrival officers found three males at that location that had been stabbed.  All three males were in their early twenties and were treated and released from the Cortland Regional Medical Center for their injuries. 

The three male victims were attending a gathering at 63 Groton Avenue. The male suspect who did the stabbing, and a male that he was with prior to this incident, have not been identified or located.  The City of Cortland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect and the person he was with.  The suspect is described as a black male, in his early twenties, approximately five foot ten inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with dreadlocks.  He was wearing a black NY Yankees baseball cap, a white t-shirt, and blue jeans.  The male with the suspect is described as a white male, in his early twenties and having a short stocky build. He was wearing a yellow polo shirt and blue jeans.  Both individuals fled the area on foot and were last seen at the intersection of Groton Avenue and Graham Avenue.
