2010-04-21, Lincoln Avenue Rapes
On Wednesday evening, April 21, 2010, at approximately 5:40 pm, officers from the City of Cortland Police Department responded to an address on Groton Avenue for a reported sexual assault. Upon arrival officers found that two nineteen year old females, who reside at the residence, had been sexually assaulted. The assault occurred at 63 Lincoln Avenue in the downstairs apartment earlier in the evening.
Officers from the City of Cortland Police Department responded to 63 Lincoln Avenue to continue the investigation and locate the persons involved in the assault. Officers were met with resistance and were assisted by Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, and University Police. Three male residents of the downstairs apartment at 63 Lincoln Avenue were taken into custody and transported to the Cortland Police Department. Evidence was collected from the apartment.
Subsequent investigation revealed the two female victims went to 63 Lincoln Avenue to visit a resident of the downstairs apartment. The victims were provided alcohol and became intoxicated. Both victims were forced to have sexual contact with two of the male residents of the apartment.
Investigators have lodged the following criminal charges:

Rape in the First Degree, Class B Felony, 1 Count
Criminal Sex Act in the First Degree, Class B Felony, 1 Count
Ervis M. Glynn, 22 years of age
63 Lincoln Avenue, Downstairs Apartment, Cortland, NY
Rape in the First Degree, Class B Felony, 1 Count
Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, Class D Felony, 1 Count
Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A Misdemeanor, 2 Counts
Glynn and Rivera are currently in police custody awaiting arraignment in Cortland City Court.
