Downtown Cortland hits the Air Waves this Saturday

Tune in to WXHC radio Oldies 101.5 out of Homer New York this Saturday for a special one-hour radio segment from 1 pm to 2 pm dedicated to historic downtown Cortland.

Every year during the Rotary Radio days, WXHC programming is turned over to the Cortland Rotary for a day¹s worth of truly public programming. This year Lloyd Purdy from the non-profit Cortland Downtown Partnership is teaming up with barista extraordinaire Karina Murphy from the Blue Frog Coffee House at 64 Main Street to bring listeners an hour of programming dedicated to historic downtown Cortland.

"As a member of Rotary I¹m glad I can participate in this fundraiser and help promote historic downtown Cortland," said Karina Murphy, owner of the Blue Frog Coffee House in downtown Cortland.

Lloyd and Karina will be broadcasting in the studio live from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. sharing the "sounds of downtown" with listeners. Topics will include the summer event schedule for historic downtown Cortland, the music of downtown Cortland, new and niche businesses of downtown Cortland as well as a no-holds barred interview about the future of downtown Cortland with Lloyd Purdy.

"Downtown Cortland is an important part of the fabric of our community," said Lloyd Purdy, Director of the Cortland Downtown Partnership. "I¹m pleased we can share the successes of downtown with the public through Rotary Radio Day at WXHC Radio."

Rotary Radio days is a fundraiser for the Cortland Rotary supported by WXHC Radio of Homer.
