Deadline for Ordering CRT Subscriptions Draws Near

Cortland Repertory Theatre Box Office staff reminds Central New York residents that summer is just around the corner, and with summer comes great summer theatre! The deadline for ordering CRT subscriptions and flex passes is Friday, April 30, as the box office readies itself to open for general ticket sales. Subscriptions sales are brisk, and the theatre administration wants to reiterate that now is the time to plan a great summer of fun by ordering a full subscription, before general ticket sales begin on May 10.

Subscriptions offer all six shows in CRT’s season at a discounted price, with the guarantee that the holder will have the same exact seats each time they attend a performance. Flex Passes come in a pack of six tickets each, which allows the holder to pick the show, performance and seating that they would like to attend (subject to availability). With a Flex Pass, two people can go to three shows, three people can go to two shows, or any other combination of six individuals and tickets.

Subscribers are also allowed to exchange tickets for a different performance within the same show (given 24 hours notice), which is a privilege not given to single ticket purchasers. A separate week, May 3 - 7, is set aside strictly for subscribers to exchange tickets or purchase additional tickets before the Box Office opens to the general public.

The 2010 season offers the prefect blend of musicals, comedies and mysteries, with all shows making their CRT debuts. Kicking off the season on June 9 is Agatha Christie’s thrilling mystery Spider’s Web, followed by the hysterical farce See How They Run starting on June 23. Next up comes two 3-week musicals, the hot and steamy The Pajama Game (July 7 - 24) and the magical Brigadoon (July 28 - August 14). Following that is the Central New York premier of the dramatic comedy Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks starring CRT Director Kerby Thompson, followed by the professional New York State debut of The Andrews Brothers, featuring the 1940’s music made famous by the Andrews Sisters, with a decidedly masculine “twist”!

In addition to the subscription series, CRT also offers the children’s show The Jungle Book on July 29 and 31, and August 6 and 7 at 10:00 am. Also, reservations can be made for both Youth Camps, “Showstoppers and Superstars” Musical Theatre Adventure Camp for children in K - 5 grades, and “Stars of Tomorrow” Summer Drama Camp for students in 5 - 12 grades.

CRT continues to be the most affordable summer theatre in the area, with prices the same as last year. The Box Office is also taking reservations for groups of 10 or more people at a discounted rate, and will continue to do so throughout the summer.
