February 5, March 5, April 2, Super (Bus) Saturdays

Bus TransportationSuper Saturdays is a special pilot program created by Seven Valleys Health Coalition and the Transportation Advisory Committee of the County Legislature. It is designed to determine the viability of expanded Saturday bus service in Cortland County.

On the first Saturday of February, March and April, a bus will be available to transport people from the rural areas of the county into Downtown Cortland. Another bus will take folks from Downtown to Homer, along the Rt. 281 shopping corridor,  to the Plaza Theater and back Downtown.

It will be a day for shopping, going out to lunch, going to a movie, getting your hair done, visiting friends or attending a special event. The service is geared to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, college students, church groups, groups of friends, families, and any individuals who may want to try taking the bus.

There will be “bus buddy” volunteers on the buses those days to help people plan their day and to provide information on special activities or events.

Riders will be offered a 10% discount card to be used at participating merchants only on those specific days. A list of participating merchants (with any restrictions noted) will be given to riders along with a discount card when they board the bus.  A discount card will need to be shown when purchasing but will be retained by the rider.
