FLOOD WARNING!
CITY OF CORTLAND PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

Please be advised that according to the NWS Binghamton this weather will last throughout the evening into tomorrow, and we could get another 3-5 inches of rain, heavy at times. If a lot of rain is received within a short period of time, we could begin to have flash flooding problems.

Their latest prediction is that the Tioughnioga River could rise to between 11-12 feet (3-4 feet above flood stage of 8 feet).  From past experience this could cause some serious flooding problems. You can monitor the river level online, and be prepared to evacuate if you live in a low lying area near the Tioughnioga River.
