May 10, CACTC Youth Conference

2:30 - 9 pm, Ramada Inn, Cortland. This year’s event is focusing on getting young people involved and interested in giving back to their community. Open to youths in 6th – 12th grades. During the afternoon there will be a presentation from award-winning poet, actor, and inspirational speaker Carlos Andres Gomez, interesting workshops, and an opportunity for the students to learn more about volunteering the community. In the evening, a DJ dance and Karaoke featuring Jill Reener’s Hip Hop Dancers, swimming, yoga, crafts, games, prizes and more! There will be a $5 registration fee, but scholarships are available if necessary. Registration is limited to the first 100 and they will go quickly. Registration forms are available online. May 10, Cortland Teen Center Chicken BBQ

11:00 am until the chicken is sold. All proceeds will benefit the Youth Bureau Teen Center's summer field trips. Health Dept. guidelines are strictly followed at CYB barbecues. The kids and staff at CYB would like to thank the community for its support.

May 31, Crazy Skate Park Jam Band Explosion

6 - 11 pm, Cortland Teen Center. The evening will feature live performances by the following bands: Wilderness Wandering (pictured below ), The Reactions and Handbook for the Recently Diseased. There will be pizza, soda and baked goods available for purchase. The official 2008 Cortland Skate Park T shirt will also be unveiled. A donation accepted at the door will benefit the Cortland Skate Park and will be used to purchase new equipment for the park. For more information call the Cortland Youth Bureau at (607) 753-3021.
