Facilitated sessions to identify local foods and local place-making initiatives in the City of Cortland with potential county/regional reach. The Community Meeting will include interactive discussions about opportunities to use local food initiatives to strengthen the Cortland downtown area, foster economic development, and promote better public health outcomes locally. Local community leaders applied for technical assistance to participate in the Local Foods, Local Places program. Your knowledge of the local area, agriculture and food-related topics, community development, and health and wellness is needed to help inform action and make this event a success. This is a federal initiative to provide free technical assistance to communities interested in developing local food systems in support of goals mutually shared with the community.
